Study On The Application Of Foil In Painting

Foil is one of the special materials in traditional Chinese painting.It has a long history of application in Chinese and even world painting.Although it has gone through a long period of time,the foil in paintings is still brilliant and dazzling,showing a unique artistic charm and strong artistic appeal.As early as the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties,foil was used for painting.In the Tang Dynasty and later periods,the murals of temples and temples were used and abundant techniques were created.Foil has a strong decorative,from the Tang Dynasty Mogao Grottoes frescoes to the Ming Dynasty frescoes of the Fahai Temple can find the use of foil.Chinese traditional painting in the Tang Dynasty was introduced into Japan with Buddhist art.The use of foil has also been learned by Japanese painters and has been an indispensable part of Japanese painting.As an important artistic material,gold foil has important historical value and epochal significance on the world art stage.The first part of the paper mainly introduces the types of foil and different ways of expression.There are many kinds of foil,the effect of different foil in the picture is very different.This chapter combs the material characteristics of different types of foil,and introduces the basic methods of foil application in painting from foil sticking,gold interception,foil spraying,foil rubbing and so on.The second part combs the historical value of foil in painting,including the most representative paintings in traditional Chinese painting,Japanese painting and Western art.The third part explores the use of foil in painting.It is mainly carried out in the following five aspects: the presentation of foil on different substrates,the use of different tools to produce different visual effects on foil,the oxidation and discoloration of foil,the aesthetic feeling of foil material,and the aesthetic characteristics of foil.The fourth part analyses the use of foil in modern and contemporary painters 'creation,mainly introducing the current situation of foil use in works of representative Chinese and Japanese painters and appreciation of paintings.The fifth part elaborates the practical application and experience of foil in my Chinese painting creation.With the revival of Chinese heavy-color painting and the emergence of comprehensive material painting,foil has also appeared many new techniques of expression,and began toappear widely in art works.Starting from the angle of creative exploration and the practice of materials,this paper studies the painting characteristics of foil and its application in painting techniques,summarizes the experience of predecessors,and analyses the application methods and presentation effects of foil in modern and contemporary artists' works,so as to analyze the value of foil in painting.
