This paper takes the rural wall painting in Zhumadian area from 1949 to now as the research object.Firstly,it defines the concept of rural wall painting.Then it summarizes the geographical situation,historical system and cultural tradition of Zhumadian area.It also summarizes the social function of image,the transformation of traditional wall painting,the early form of rural wall painting in Zhumadian area and the speech at Yan’an Literature and Art Symposium.This paper discusses the reasons for the rise of rural wall painting in 1949.Secondly,with 1966,1978 and 2005 as the time nodes,the rural wall painting in Zhumadian area is divided into four periods.The development and evolution of rural wall painting are sorted out from three angles: the background of the times,the form and content,and the overall characteristics,and then it is concluded that rural wall painting is involved in the construction of rural culture.Then,from the perspective of spatial layout,the paper analyses the impact of the establishment and disintegration of people’s communes,the main roads between urban and rural areas,the main roads in rural areas and cultural squares on the location and layout of rural wall paintings in Zhumadian area.From the perspective of time,this paper discusses that the form of rural wall painting presents the unity of pluralism and singleness in the process of evolution,and that the combination of forms reflects the characteristics of the times of local society.Under the spatial layout,rural wall paintings are closely related to the rural people,but the relationship between them is active dissemination and passive acceptance,and their rights and interests are also virtually deprived.In this way,the rural wall painting in Zhumadian area has brought a series of positive and negative effects on the rural people.On the one hand,it understands the principles and policies,on the other hand,serious words alienate the villagers.Although it satisfies the material life,hard-to-distinguish information can also mislead the villagers’ judgment.Although it imperceptibly improves the cultural quality of the countryside,childish images are not conducive to improving the villagers’ aesthetics.Level.Finally,from the cultural point of view,the development of rural wall paintings in Zhumadian area is proposed.Rural wall paintings should be developed as part of rural culture,and the artistry of rural wall paintings should be promoted through professional painters,designers and folk culture.On this basis,rural wall paintings with artistic flavor should be popularized.
