Collective memory in the field of sociology is an important research concept of human geography.In the past decade years,with the development of cities and new constructions,this theory has also become a significant research perspective of urban spatial related theory in city planning,design studies and other disciplines.Due to public nature and media characteristics of the public art,the practice on spatial planning and design has gradually become a new strategy to create a sense of spatial identity,develop urban characteristics and activate the vitality of space culture.In recent years,collective memory theory has also become a new perspective to interpret the relationship between public art and urban space.suggesting that public art is an effective medium for disseminating memories and enhancing spatial identity.The storage and inheritance of memory is inseparable from the media carrier,space and place.As the most typical type of urban space,the heritage site is an important commemorative space for carrying collective memory.Under rapid urbanization,the industrial heritage containing urban history and culture has become an important place to represent collective memory.Based on the above analysis,the article is based on the collective memory theory of the famous French sociologist Maurice Habwah,studying the basic content of the work---the collective framework of memory,analyzing the inner promotion relationship between collective memory and public art design from theoretical perspective.Secondly,selecting the Tsingtao Beer Museum with deep industry,historical and cultural heritage as an empirical case;And taking the visitors,employees and nearby residents as subjects;Using field research interviews,data statistics and other research methods;From the two dimensions of public art memory representation and memory subject public art appeal,exploring the internal effect of public art design and collective memory construction in the museum.In general,based on the collective framework theory of memory.This paper explored the intrinsic relationship between public art design and collective memory construction,in order to determinate the positive impact of the effective combination of public art and collective memory on memory construction and spatial identity,to enrich the public interventional studies the transformation of urban space.
