Realization Of Public Education In Design Museum

As a branch of museums,design museums have gone through hundreds of years in the West.Almost every developed country has the image of design museums that attract worldwide attention.It can be said that design museums play an important complementary and enriching role in the design education of the whole West.Design museums are different from traditional "art museums".The primary task of art museums is to present the uniqueness and sublime of art works,which greatly highlights the sculpture or painting works themselves.The importance of designing museums lies in analyzing and revealing the value and significance of life.Its mission is not to disseminate "beauty" as a goal,but to explore the relationship between material manufacture and thought by revealing the relationship between science,technology and art.This also determines the difference between the public education of design museums and that of general art museums.It not only disseminates the aesthetic value of design,but also carries on the discussion of science and art and reveals the prospect of future life.Design museums provide a wealth of design collections,design exhibitions,design archives and various information services for people from all walks of life,and help people deepen their understanding of design history,design issues and design culture.Starting from the realization of public education in design museums at home and abroad,this paper takes the Dessau Bauhaus Foundation and the China International Design Museum as examples to focus on the concept and practice of public education in design museums.Through purposeful,planned and systematic research,empirical research is carried out by using the methods of literature research,investigation,observation and other research methods.This paper analyses the learning characteristics,achievements and significance of design museums,and provides effective suggestions and Reflections for the Chinese International Design Museum,which has been operated in the light of foreign experience.It also explores the new concept of public education in design museums.
