A Research On The Painting Characteristics Of Portrait Paintings By Ingres

As the last master of neoclassicalism in the 19 th century,Ingres has worked hard for a lifetime,and created fruitful works.Dividing the works by Ingres form the perspective of the subject matter,his works can be roughly divided into court paintings,historical paintings,portrait paintings and bather paintings,among which the portrait paintings created by Ingres are recognized art masterpieces.During his studies,Ingres was trained by the teacher named David and produced a yearning for ancient Greek art.Although Ingres was forced to accept many orders for portrait paintings in his livelihood,he did not make a rude job in pursuit of money,but carefully created each piece of portrait painting.The achievements made by Ingres in portraits reflected his artistic attainments.At the same time,Ingres also used his own artistic expressions to make the creation of portrait paintings reach a new height.Taking the portrait paintings by Ingres as the research object,this paper has attempted to analyze the painting characteristics of the portrait paintings by Ingres through the methods of image analysis and comparison,so as to improve the theoretical level of the author and integrate it into practical creations.
