The concept of teaching efficacy comes from the concept of self-efficacy proposed by Bandura(1977),which mainly refers to teachers' subjective judgment of their ability to influence students' learning behavior and academic performance.Nowadays,with the development of information technology,multimedia teaching has been gradually popularized.The traditional classroom with a blackboard is being changed into the new classroom with multimedia.Therefore,teachers' teaching efficacy also changes accordingly.Under this background,how the teaching efficacy of teachers has changed today has become a important research subject.In this research,the author selected 190 junior middle school English teachers in Chizhou as subjects by convenient sampling,and explored their teaching efficacy in multimedia environment by analyzing the results of questionnaires and interviews.The research questions are as below:(1)What is the current situation of teaching efficacy of junior middle school English teachers in multimedia teaching environment?(2)What differences exist in teaching efficacy of different junior middle school English teachers in multimedia environment?(3)How can the teaching efficacy in multimedia environment be improved? The results are as follows:(1)teachers' teaching efficacy is generally high,but in the process of using multimedia,teachers still face various problems that can influence the development of teachers' teaching efficacy;(2)there are differences in teaching efficacy between teachers of different genders and among teachers of different ages,but there are no significant differences in teaching efficacy among teachers of different grades,positions and educational backgrounds;(3)the ways to improve teachers' teaching efficacy include strengthening multimedia environment construction,informatization training and so on.On the whole,the research results provide guidance for junior middle school English teachers' teaching in multimedia environment.And it can also help junior middle schools and teachers to take proper ways to effectively improve teachers' teaching efficacy.
