With regard to the four basic skills of listening,speaking,reading and writing,the last one is an important index to test the students' English competence.However,Product Approach is the current mode of writing teaching,and it always occupies the class of English writing teaching in most senior high schools in China.Under this teaching environment,students only have input but no output,which causes many problems in writing.Process Approach is based on the Interaction Theory and views writing as a process of thinking and exchanging ideas.This approach focuses on the students' writing process and students' writing competence,and it considers that the teacher's guidance should be incorporated into the whole writing process.Process Approach emphasizes that the writing process includes the following crucial links: pre-writing,drafting,modifying,rewriting,reviewing and so on.In the writing process,teachers and students all participate in it and complete their compositions collectively,which embodies the subject status of students fully and improve teaching efficiency in class.At present,scholars at home and abroad have paid close attention to the influence of Process Approach on English writing teaching,and many experts and teachers have proved the feasibility of this method both in theory and practice.However,there are few researches on applying Process Approach to English writing teaching in senior high schools.In the process of teaching writing,some researchers do not explain that in what aspects students' writing level can be improved,although they point out that Process Approach can improve the students' writing level.To further explore the influence and effect on Process Approach applied to English writing teaching in senior high school,the thesis attempts to do a study and puts forward two questions:(1)What effects does the application Process Approach have on students' attitudes and feelings towards English writing?(2)In what aspects does Process Approach influence students' writing level?In order to solve the two problems,two classes of Senior One are chosen from No.2 Senior High School of Zhoukou,with Class 8 as experimental class and Class 9 as control class.According to the questionnaires,interview and data analysis of tests,the results show that: 1)Most students in EC accept and actively participate in the writing teaching based on Process Approach,and they are satisfied with the English writing classes of this semester.2)In the aspect of cohesion,Process Approach has significant impact on students' writing level.It is concluded that Process Approach is a feasible and efficient method in senior high schools English writing teaching.
