On Jean-Paul Sartre’s "Mitsein"

The relationship between self and others is a topic that modern philosophers pay close attention to and study.Sartre,as an existentialist philosopher,must not avoid discussing this issue.The theoretical elaboration of this problem is also a very prominent part of Sartre’s theory.In academic circles,there are many studies on this part.But up to now,most of the theoretical studies that scholars have studied on Sartre’s theory focus on Sartre’s theory of "conflict" between self and others,while less on Sartre’s elaboration of "Mitsein" between self and others.Starting from Sartre’s"Mitsein"theory,this paper attempts to dig deeply into Sartre’s theory of "Mitsein" on self and others,and re-examine the important role of this theory in Sartre’s later ideological theory.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part mainly elaborates Sartre’s theoretical background on the relationship between self and others and Sartre’s theoretical construction on the relationship between self and others.The second part mainly discusses the origin of Heidegger and Sartre’s Mitsein "theory.Firstly,it presents Heidegger’s theory by elaborating Heidegger’s "Mitsein"theory and his construction of the relationship between self and others.Then it discusses the similarities and differences between Sartre’s and Heidegger’s"Mitsein" theory,that is,Sartre’s inheritance and Transcendence of Heidegger’s theory.The third part is mainly based on the first part and the second part,analyzing the significance of Sartre’s early "Mitsein"theory to his later ethics and political thought,and revealing that Sartre’s "Mitsein" theory cannot be ignored.I hope that through my immature research,people can see that Sartre’s research on"Mitsein"theory plays an important role in his whole theoretical building,and that"Hell is-other people" and the relationship between self and others is not the whole understanding of Sartre’s relationship between self and others.I hope the article can play a certain academic reference value.
