A Study Of Feitian College Students' Poetry Garden(1981-1989)

The change of political context influenced the development and transformation of economy and culture.In the 1980 s,the loosening of political field stimulated the development and recovery of economy and culture at that time to a great extent.Under the influence of "cultural fever" and "misty poetry",the college students after the restoration of college entrance examination set off a wave of College Students 'poetry sweeping across the country,which became an important force in poetry creation in the 1980 s.Feitian,a magazine sponsored by Gansu Provincial Literary Federation,sensitively captured this trend and opened a special column of poetry for college students,College Students' Poetry Garden.This poem column which aimed at cultivating new poets was highly pursued by college students all over the country.During the period 1981-1989,more than 400,000 contributions were received from more than 500 universities in China.In a sense,College Students' Poetry Garden can be regarded as a microcosm of College Students' poetry creation in the 1980 s.Studying the writing group and poetry texts of College Students' Poetry Garden can help us to understand the column idea and the characteristics of the poems,grasp the literary value and the significance of the times guiding the poetry turn,and on the other hand,we can get a glimpse of the general track of the college students' poetry movement,and then have a more three-dimensional understanding of the poetic scene in the 1980 s.This paper uses the research methods of literary sociology,data analysis and text close reading to carry out multi-angle research and Analysis on College Students' Poetry Garden.The first chapter starts with the background of the creation of College Student Poetry Garden,and discusses the reasons,ideas and influence of the column;the second chapter examines the group characteristics and poetry activities of the column authors,and makes data statistics on the author's geographical distribution and echelon division;the third chapter,based on specific text research,analyses the characteristics and evolution from the themes,images and languages of the poems published in College Student Poetry Garden.On this basis,it draws a conclusion that:The early poems of College Students' Poetry Garden imitate "obscure poems" to a great extent in the way of expression and the theme of content.This imitation has been gradually abandoned with the author's own exploration of poetry and art.Campus poets have formed their own independent aesthetic appreciation of poetry and launched multiple writing attempts,among which there are many pioneer experiments of "the third generation of poetry";on the other hand,the author of College Students' Poetry Garden coincides with the author of "the third generation poetry" to a great extent."The third generation poetry" is also an important trend of campus poets after the ebb of college students' poetry.College Student Poetry Garden plays an important role in literary history between "misty poetry" and "third generation poetry".College Students' Poetry Garden provides a good platform for the publication and exchange of College Students poetry lovers in the 1980 s.The careful guidance of column editor Zhang Shushen to college students poets has made the column publish many virgin works of poetry,which further stimulates the enthusiasm of college students poets' creation;The column is signed as "university-professional-name",which provides the possibility for inter-school and inter-provincial poetry communication between college poets and groups,strengthens the linkage of poetry on campus,and makes an important contribution to the prosperity of poetry in the 1980 s.Because of the mobility of the identity of "college students",most of the authors of College Students' Poetry Garden have left the campus before their poetry creation has been precipitated,which largely limits the artistic achievements of column poetry,but it is an undeniable fact that many of the poets out of College Students' Poetry Garden have become the mainstay of the poetry circle;at the same time,College Students' Poetry Garden has become the mainstay of the poetry circle for 1980 s.The creation style of contemporary college students and the preservation of contemporary poet's "apprenticeship" poems make them have important historical value of poetry.
