The Research Of Jacques Kaufman's Brick Series Ceramic Works

Brick as the theme of ceramic art creation is Jacques Kaufman adhere to focus in the study of more than 30 years of creation,the series of ceramic art experimental creation and works of vision language rich is his most representative works.This series of works comprehensively reflect the characteristics of the author's artistic creation and have exerted a far-reaching influence on the international ceramic field.This paper takes the brick series of Jacques Kaufman as the research object,starting from the origin,material characteristics,modeling characteristics and artistic characteristics of the brick series,and carries out multi-dimensional in-depth research through collecting,sorting and translating relevant materials.Classify and compare the forms of his works,then analyze the construction of the brick,record the trait and the language transformation of regional culture,according to the classification of hand-made bricks,ready-made bricks and ready-made hollow brick.This paper also probes into the engraving and repeatability of brick and the image expression of spatial masonry.At the mean time,analysis of brick masonry,extension and alienation,and the virtual language of material construction.Focusing on the characteristics of clay materials,this thesis analyzes the conception of spatial modeling and the specific creation form,and deeply explains the artistic characteristics of Jacques Kaufman's brick series ceramic works.It aims to explore more new materials,technologies and paths for the future development of handicraft through this case study,so as to broaden the development space for the expression language of pottery creation and provide a model for contemporary pottery creation.
