A Study Of Image Creation Of People Ahead Of Their Time By Cao Xueqin Based On Lin Daiyu's Image

The study of A Dream of Red Mansions has always been an important field in Chinese literature.However,the study of literature is always being updated.We can still carry out new research from household images.The image of Lin daiyu deserves our new evaluation from a new perspective.Based on the previous research,this paper evaluates the value created by Cao Xueqin's image from the perspective of "people ahead of their time".Lin Daiyu's image is not isolated,but developed in a genealogy of images.In the genealogy of characters in A dream of Red Mansions,female images can be roughly divided into four series:noble ladies in Rong Mansion,young girls in Rong Mansion,superior servants highly appreciated by their master in Rong Mansion,and inferior servant girls as well as actresses in Rong Mansion.Cao Xueqin demonstrated the uniqueness of Lin daiyu's character through the complex relationship between various images.Cao Xueqin highlights the uniqueness of Lin Daiyu's character in quantities of female characters.However,in order to reflect the value of creation of Lin daiyu's image by Cao Xueqin,this is not enough.Under the influence of social status,living condition,psychological personality and other factors,the image of Lin Daiyu showes great contradiction of human nature.Cao Xueqin created the images of Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu with four main characteristics.First,trying to pursue a new way of love in order to find a soulmate.Second,caring little about fame or fortune,but a lot about freedom.Third,pursing personality equality,emotional equality and preservation of dignity.Forth,grumbling in a flirtatious manner for emotional communication,which is contrary to the real thought but in mutual understanding and tolerance.Lin Daiyu is an idealist,a loner,a brave girl and a tragic person.It is of great academic value and life significance to study the images of Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu in the context of history and culture in order to deeply understand Cao Xueqin's contribution to culture,history and times.
