Milan Kundera and Wang Xiaobo are both famous novelists, and their works are of high artistic value. The novel concept of both of them is not only the guidance of creative practice, but also the summary of creative experience. On the one hand, their novel view is the embodiment of individual subjective tendency. On the other hand,it is also a modern novel view that conforms to the actual development of novel art.Milan Kundera's and Wang Xiaobo's novel views can communicate in three aspects:1 understanding of existence;2 understanding of the relationship between real and fiction;3 understanding of humor. In the understanding of existence, they all think that the novel should express the theme of existence.Their view of existence is based on a relative position, opposing singleness and absoluteness, and demanding the infinite possibilities of novel exploration.Unlike Kundera's suspicion of the certainty of all standards,Wang Xiaobo believes that truth is certain, and the judgment of novel art has objective criteria. They believe that the novel's exploration of the possibilities of existence is based on the exploration of the possibilities of self. The possibilities of self are expressed in the novel as the shaping of the characters of the novel.Kundera and Wang Xiaobo's understanding of "self" is divided.Kundera believes that "self" refers to the "self" of the novel's own characters, and the author should hide from the novel.Wang Xiaobo believes that "self" is the author's own projection on the characters of the novel. On the issue of the novel expressing the truth represented by "existence",Kundera associates the novel with philosophy, indicating that the novel can express the understanding of truth like philosophy. The poetic expression of the truth cannot be accomplished by philosophy.Wang Xiaobo believes that the novel should learn from science on the issue of expressing truth, and the novel has its own uniqueness in expressing the truth. In the understanding of the relationship between reality and fiction, the two think that the novel should pay attention to both fiction and reality. They oppose the traditional view of novels that oppose each other. They believe that there should be no clear boundaries between truth and fiction in the novel, but that they should cross each other and merge.Kundera emphasizes that fiction is based on his recognition of the spirit ofnon-serious novels represented by Cervantes,Rabelais, etc. He believes that novels can break through the shackles of authenticity through fantasy narratives.Wang Xiaobo's esteem for fiction stems from his dislike of the ugly and stupid phenomenon in reality. He hopes to construct a poetic world far from reality with imagination.Wang Xiaobo values the role of childlike minds in imagination, which makes the imagination in his novels lighter than Kundera's novels of "imagining philosophical thinking".Kundera requires that the work be true,to discover the trivial and forgotten beauty of life. The truth emphasized by Wang Xiaobo is the real logic under the logic of the surface of the real world. It is the essence of the essence. He believes that a clearer understanding of reality should be achieved by separating the time and space distance from the "present" reality. In order to rationally understand the reality,Kundera and Wang Xiaobo both emphasized the temperance of lyricism in the novel and opposed self-indulgence.But Kundera's attitude toward Wang Xiaobo was more extreme. Both Kundera and Wang Xiaobo believe that in modern novels, there is no obvious boundary between reality and fiction, and they cross each other and merge.Kundera believes that the fusion of truth and fiction in the novel is to place the fictional dreams in the same position as the philosophical discourse and event records that represent reality through the novel contraposition method.Wang Xiaobo's view of the cross-border of real and fiction is reflected in: 1 He intends to conduct text experiments. In the experiment, reality and fiction are difficult to distinguish each other, fiction can create reality;2 his "reality-fictional view" is more and more in his later period. For the repressed influence of reality, the imagination is more and more heavy, and the imagination he constructs is full of images of reality. In the understanding of humor, humor is the core of Kundera and Wang Xiaobo's attitude towards life and style.Personality, life experience and literary acceptance have contributed to the formation of their humorous views. The humorous views of Kundera and Wang Xiaobo are opposed to moral trials. In the field of moral judgment,Kundera intends to use humor to dissolve the sacredness of religion.Wang Xiaobo hopes to pierce the hypocritical mask of Confucian morality with humor. In the specific way of expressing humor, they all advocate "focusing on lightness." “Heavy” is a heavy and serious theme, and “light” is a form of easy and ridiculous.Kundera believes thatcomedy is more cruel than tragic. He reveals the meaningless nature of existence and punctures the dream of human beings who comfort themselves with "sublimity." Therefore, the weight of his "emphasis on light" thought refers to the heavy representation of comedy. He demanded that "light" be "heavy" because of the aesthetic characteristics of the novel,so that the novel is not too boring when expressing a heavy theme.Kundera's "focusing on lightness" humor concept is influenced by the history of European humor evolution,Czech literary traditions and reality.Wang Xiaobo's view of "focusing on lightness" is reflected in his desire to be interesting and serious at the same time.Interesting is the “lightness” of the formal level, and seriousness is his poetic expression of rational thinking in essays and other articles. His view of humor is influenced by Calvino.Wang Xiaobo's "focusing on lightness" humor concept was unique in the Chinese literary world at that time.He believed that reality is a deep sorrow under the ridiculous appearance. The humor in his novels is only a realistic representation of reality. The novels of Kundera and Wang Xiaobo are generally a modern novel view that counters the traditional concept of novels. It is a novel view that pays attention to the existence of modern people. The emphasis on the "person" as an individual is the starting point for Kundera and Wang Xiaobo to discuss. From their individual standpoint, they have a deep purpose in the series of requirements for the novel to defend their dignity and freedom.
