Binding Design Of Series Books Of Gan Local Chronicles

Records,also known as local chronicles or geographies,comprehensively record the history and current situation of the political,economic,social,scientific,technological and cultural works of the region in a certain period of time.Local chronicles,compiled by local governments,are authoritative historical materials.For a long time,local chronicles have been regarded as reference books.The design concept of binding is old and the style is single.There are many similarities in the form of local chronicles,which is not consistent with their status as a representative local book.Therefore,in order to improve the compilation level of local chronicles,enhance the cultural value and connotation of local chronicles,it is very urgent to change the concept of the binding design of local chronicles.Based on the analysis and classification of regional culture,this paper puts forward the methods of screening and refining visual symbols of regional culture,and applies them to the binding design practice of Gan Local Chronicles Series.The series is divided into eleven sets of city chronicles,corresponding to eleven prefecture-level cities in Jiangxi Province.Through the comparison and analysis of their cultural characteristics,the cultural commonalities and differences among the cities are obtained.The overall style of the series reflects the cultural commonness of eleven cities in Jiangxi,while the differences are reflected in the details and colors of each volume of chronicles.This paper is divided into five main chapters: Chapter 1 introduces the current situation of the development of the binding design of chronicles,as well as the objectives and practical significance of this design.Chapter two puts forward the value and style of the design of chronicles,which includes the value of historical materials and cultural value,while the style of chronicles should embody the characteristics of solemnity,epoch and region.The third chapter discusses the methods of introducing regional culture into the design of local chronicles,and points out that the selection of regional cultural elements should be carried out according to the principles of representativeness,identification and persistence,andthe introduction of regional cultural elements should be carried out in two ways:concrete presentation and symbolic presentation.The fourth chapter studies and analyses the characteristics of Jiangxi regional culture,classifies Ganxi culture and extracts visual symbols.In the fifth chapter,the theory described in the first four chapters is applied to the binding design practice of Gan Local Chronicles Series,so as to complete the transformation and upgrading of the binding form of Jiangxi Local Chronicles.
