Shi tuo was a country writer who came to the literary world in the 1930 s.He was born in the country and lived in the city.He had a ambivalent attitude towards his hometown, full of love and resentment. On the one hand,he was sentimentally attached to the land where he had raised him;on the other hand,he was deeply resentful of the declining and stagnant land. After living in the city,he fell into the dual emotions of nostalgia and criticism. He was extremely disgusted with the city imbued with desire and was full of nostalgia for the harmonious and balanced natural ecology in the countryside. The life experience of "prodigal son" makes him wander between town and country ceaselessly, explore in angst, search in lose.Ecocriticism is a model of literary criticism that emerged in the 1970 s.This kind of criticism, which originated in the west, developed after it was introduced into China.Domestic scholars conducted in-depth exploration on the basis of western theories and gradually enriched this criticism style. They believe that ecocriticism should not only re-explore people’s attitude towards nature, but also pay attention to the relevant social ecology and spiritual ecology. When the natural ecology is destroyed, the social ecology also faces all kinds of problems, and the spiritual ecology of people changes accordingly. Therefore, the study of shi tuo’s urban-rural writing from the perspective of ecocriticism not only helps to examine the relationship between man and nature, but also helps to build a more harmonious social ecology and shape a positive spiritual ecology. This paper is divided into four chapters. The first three chapters respectively study the attention to natural ecology, the criticism of social ecology and the exploration of spiritual ecology shown in shituo’s urban and rural writing. In the first chapter, the author studied the description ofnatural ecology in shi tuo’s works and thought that he saw the beauty of "the unity of nature and man" in the early days of his hometown. Therefore,he was worried about the constantly damaged natural ecology under the impact of modern civilization. In the second chapter, the author makes a comparative study of the social ecology described by shi tuo, believing that he shows the backward development of rural society and the chaos of urban society, and shows the anxiety of "nowhere to go".In the third chapter, the author studies the spiritual ecology of the barren individual life in different spatial forms in shituo’s urban and rural writing, and reveals the objective pursuit of the ultimate meaning of ecology embodied in his works. The last chapter studies the reasons and significance of shi tuo’s ecological writing in urban and rural areas, and confirms his enlightenment on solving the more and more urgent ecological problems.Based on the ecological consciousness in shituo’s urban and rural writing, this paper tries to analyze the natural ecology, social ecology andspiritual ecology from the perspective of ecocriticism, reveal the ideological significance and artistic achievements of shituo’s urban and rural writing, and provide a mirror for solving serious ecological problems at present.
