Research On The "Sense Of Loneliness" Existing In The Formal Languages Of Paintings Created By Chirico And Hopper

Chirico and Hopper are the two representative artists in the History of Western Art who keep unique understandings and expressions for paintings and their works are infused with perception and philosophical thinking for lives in that era.Although Chirico and Hopper have their unique formal languages,their panting works are able to create the sense of loneliness in emotions.The research on the “sense of loneliness” existing in the formal languages of paintings created by Chirico and Hopper is mainly carried out in the following aspects: firstly,it briefly elaborates the backgrounds of Chirico and Hopper,including family background and their life experience,which is the foundation for further analysis.Secondly,it sorts out the painting styles of them,as well as the reasons why the styles are formed,then,it is conductive to analyzing the emotional source of the works created by them from the perspective of practice and theory so that the emotional factors conveyed by the works of them can be further studied.Thirdly,it regards the painting works created by Chirico in the “metaphysical” period and those painting works related to urban and rural scenes created by Hopper as the main research subjects,afterwards,it specifically discusses how they use the formal languages to make the works convey the “sense of loneliness” and atmosphere in chapters and based on the formal languages of painting woks.Fourthly,it further mines the ways of emotional expression in the works created by them,the effect of their artistic concepts on the successive generation and their enlightenment for painting creation based on the relevant research and analysis of the works created by Chirico and Hopper.It is expected that the paper will referring to the previous research results,the artistic values of Chirico and Hopper are more comprehensively and objectively understood and the new thoughts and perspectives for the ways of emotional expression related to artistic creation are also provided.
