Modern Chinese ambiguity has long been a hot issue in the study of language psychology. Most of the discussions on ambiguous words are in modern texts. In recent years, more and more lexical ambiguities have been studied in classical Chinese.Under the craze of promoting excellent traditional culture, classical Chinese has been paid more and more attention in the study of Chinese teaching.Differences between ancient and modern meanings are more common in classical Chinese, and such anomalies can be ambiguous when read.Processing modern meanings in classical Chinese often interferes with readers' reading and learning. Therefore,it is necessary to restrain the activation of modern meanings and realize the activation of ancient meanings so as to eliminate ambiguities. In this study, the differences between ancient and modern ambiguous words are taken as the starting point to study the differences in ambiguity processing and ambiguity resolution between the two types of ambiguous words. Therefore,in experiment 1,100 college students were selected to explore the differences in processing homophones and part-of-speech ambiguities in Chinese context by lexical judgment task. The results showed that the main effects of the two types of ambiguities were significant.Compared with homophones, the response time of part-of-speech ambiguities was long and the accuracy was low;the main effects of the semantic bias of detective words were significant, compared with detective words. To modern meaning and irrelevant meaning, the response time of detecting words to ancient meaning is long and the correct rate is low. This shows that the multiple meanings of the two types of ambiguous words in classical Chinese have been activated, and the contextual effect is weak, and the relative frequency of meaning plays a great role.In addition to processing various meanings,part-of-speech ambiguous words also need to distinguish between parts of speech, which will lead to a slightly lower accuracy of the subjects.Indirect support for reordering access model. In experiment 2,48 college students were selected by eye movement instrument to explore the processing differences of homophone and part-of-speech ambiguities in the context of sentences. The experimental results show that in the context of classical Chinese sentences, the multiple meanings of two kinds of ambiguous words in classical Chinese are activated.Relative frequency of meaning is weak, and context plays a very important role.In terms of different eye movement indicators, there are differences between the two types of ambiguous words in the original sentence interest area and the translation sentence interest area.Preference to ancient meanings of detective words accords with context, with the shortest total fixation time, and has the advantage of semantic bias processing, which indirectly supports context-sensitive model.
