The American Deep Image Accepts Chinese Classical Poetry

Deep Imagism emerged in the early 1950 s.The biggest difference between it and the Imagism is the theory of unconsciousness.The Deep Imagism camp is not big,mainly consisting of four main members,Robert Bly,James Wright,Louis Simpson and William Stafford.The poets lived in different parts of America,and without a unified concept of poetry creation.They keep in touch with each other because of their common interest in the unconscious.In the aspect of poetry creation,the Chinese classical poetry has provided the new creation inspiration for them.The main reason for them to accept the influence of Chinese classical poetry is to get rid of the shackles of modern poets and seek for new ways of understanding the world and new aesthetic styles.In the process of accepting the influence of Chinese poetry,Deep Imagism not only studies Oriental philosophy,but also uses Chinese traditional "image" and techniques of Chinese classical poetry for reference.While Chinese classical poetry influences the content of Deep Imagist,it also changes in the learning process.Different poets choose different Chinese classical poets as the learning objects of their poetic creation because of their personal temperament.In the specific poetry practice,there are great differences in personality.The acceptance of Chinese classical poetry by Deep Imagism poets not only proves the artistic charm and practical value of classical culture in the world,but also proves that the tradition of classical poetry can be constantly reborn in new cultural soil.
