With the advancement of education reform,English writing has received more and more attention in the English teaching of secondary vocational school.However,the teaching methods are relatively traditional and vocational school students' writing ability is relatively poor.So the writing teaching is not satisfactory,which leads to the phenomenon of students' lacking writing interest and enthusiasm and rejecting English writing.This thesis aims to use the method of action research to explore whether the process writing approach can effectively improve the teaching efficiency of English writing in secondary vocational school.In this study,the author aims to answer the following questions: 1)To what extent can students' enthusiasm for English writing be motivated through using process writing approach? 2)What's the influence of process writing approach on secondary vocational school students' attitudes and interest in English writing? 3)To what extent can the process writing approach improve students' writing ability?In order to dig into the questions above,the author selects the Food Detection1732 in Zhejiang Business School in Jinhua to conduct the study.This study adopts the action research method,using questionnaires,interviews and composition tests to explore the research questions and the duration of the research is one semester.Through the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis,the author makes a comparative analysis of questionnaires,interviews and writing performance.The major findings are as follows: 1)After the action research,students' interest and confidence in writing have been greatly enhanced,and their attitudes toward writing have been significantly improved.2)The process writing approach can help students to raise awareness of cooperation.3)The study lasted for a relatively short time,so students' writing proficiency improved slightly.But process approach still has a positive influence on students' writing ability.Process writing approach can help students make improvement especially in the content and organization of writing.Therefore,we can draw a conclusion that process writing approach can improve students' writing attitudes and motivation.It is of great necessity for teachers to make full use of its advantages and teachers should carry out long-term process writing training to improve students' writing ability.Finally,this paper tries to put forward some suggestions to improve the English writing teaching in secondary vocational school: 1)Pay attention to the pre-writing teaching stage.The main task of this stage is to encourage students to discuss the topic before writing so that students are able to think divergently around the topic.2)In the feedback stage,the teacher's feedback is crucial for that the teacher's feedback is the best supplement to peer's feedback.And positive feedback from teacher can enhance students' interest in writing.3)Some other writing-related teaching activities,such as weekly diary and presentation,will also contribute to the implementation of process writing.These activities are effective to the enhancement of students' interest in writing as well as the consolidation of the knowledge they have learned.
