At present,production-oriented approach(POA)proposed by Wen Qiufang(2014)is very popular in China's education classroom.This model attaches great importance to the application of theoretical knowledge in practical practice,and finally forms efficient and high-quality classroom activities.However,there is an obvious phenomenon of “separation of learning and using” in the oral English teaching of secondary vocational school students,which is characterized by weak English foundation,lack of interest in learning and low classroom efficiency.The author hopes that the new teaching method can change the current situation of vocational school students.The purpose of this action research is to provide rich content and enough practice opportunities for students' oral English learning by optimizing teaching design,so as to train their thinking ability and improve their oral English skills,and lay a solid foundation for the future development of professionalism.Based on Krashen's input theory and Swain's output theory,the author applies POA to the oral English Teaching in secondary vocational school.The author uses the teaching process of “motivating-enabling-assessing”to teach oral English.The approach that the author adopt to solve the problem is action research and takes 36 second year students of civil aviation major in a secondary vocational school in Changchun as the experimental objects to conduct a 12-week research.Through questionnaire,interview and oral tests,the problems which the author tries to solve in this paper are:(1)How does teacher apply POA to oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools?(2)How does oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools affect students' learning interest with POA?(3)How does oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools affect students' oral English with POA ?Through two rounds of action research and data analysis by SPSS23.0 software,the results indicate that using POA can improve students' oral ability,which is mainly reflected in the accuracy of students' oral expression,fluency and sentence complexity.The author's research is a positive attempt to apply POA in the oral English teaching of secondary vocational schools,which provides more reference for the future oral English teaching.
