Developing learners' English reading ability is an important part of English teaching.English reading teaching guided by Schema Theory has positive significance in establishing schema content and analyzing the detailed content and structure of discourses.The Bloom's Revised Taxonomy(RBT)divides and sets the education objectives systematically from cognition,emotion and motor skills,which can help teachers design the teaching aims.However,the design of English teaching activities guided by the two theories are still patterned,surface layered and fragmental,and the related research on English reading strategies mostly takes college students as the research objects,neglecting the cultivation of reading strategy ability and the improvement of problem-solving ability.The English learning activity concept proposed by the New English Curriculum of English Teaching in High School refers to the development of the ability for students to analyze and solve problems by participating in effective learning activities,internalizing knowledge and integrating skills.Therefore,this research is based on the guidance of the English learning activities concept,combines Schema Theory and RBT to design and carry out English learning activities in reading classes,and try to explore the impact of it,answer the following 2 research questions through the teaching experiments:1)What effects do English learning activities have on the use of reading strategies of high school students based on the View of English Learning Activity?2)What effects do English learning activities have on reading comprehension ability of high school students based on the View of English Learning Activity?In this study,112 students of Grade 1from No.2 High School in Miluo City are selected to accept a 16-week teaching experiment.The English reading teaching based on the View of English Learning Activity is carried out in the experimental class,and the regular reading teaching is carried out in the controlled class.Through research tools such as English reading comprehension exams,questionnaires,and interviews etc.,the experimental data can be collected and statistically analyzed by SPSS 23.0 software.It is found that English reading learning activities based on the View of English Learning Activity have had a positive impact on high school students' use of social/affective strategies and cognitive strategies,and have played a significant role in promoting students' English reading comprehension.At the same time,by participating the series of learning activities,application and practicing activities and innovating activities,students have been able to form linguistic,content and formal schema,participate in problem-solving activities,express their opinions,intentions and emotions,and use existing schema knowledge and reading strategies to solve practical problems,then their awareness and ability of using reading strategies have been developed,and the English reading comprehension ability has been improved.
