The Research On The Phonology Of Shanxi Zhongyang Dialect

The main research target of the thesis is Zhongyang dialect and its phonetics.regarding reading differences between classic Chinese and colloquial as the cut point,treating the phonetic system in the book of“Qieuyun”in the middle and ancient period and dialect in northwest of China during tang and Song dynasty as the historical reference,it rearranges the phonetic system of the final,initial and tone,absorbing the studying way of the phonetics and its results.It carefully describes the phenomenon of consecutive tone changes,reading differences between literary and colloquial,vanishing of tail vowel of entering tone,characters of smooth syllables transformed into cheched syllables as well as the coordination relationship of the final,initial and tone and the corresponding law between the Mandarin and the phonetics in middle and ancient time with rearrangement and enrichment of the collection of words with the same sounds.It records the basic situation of the phonetics and generally shows basic outline of this dialect,meanwhile,analyzing some phonetic phenomenon with great importance through historical contrast and synchronous description while find out the regulations and directions of linguistic evolution by the means of synchronous contrast and historical tracing.The thesis is divided into 8 parts as followings:In the chapter one introduces the location,historical establishment and development,the distribution of Zhongyang dialect and its research status and meaning.In the second describes the initials,finals and tones of Zhongyang dialect as well as the regulation of consecutive tone.In the third praat is used to analyse the Zhongyang dialect with linguistic experiment way.In the fourth discusses the coordination ties between the finals and initials in Zhongyang dialect,including their simple list.In chapter five is the contrast of the final and initials with the summary of corresponding relationship of the phonetics in middle and ancient time and the phonetics in Zhongyang dialect,Zhongyang dialect and the Mandarin,as well as the rhyme and the tone in the current and past.it also make explanations for some exception.In the sixth is literary and colloquial pronunciation in Zhongyang dialect.The literary and colloquial pronunciation of Zhongyang dialect is rich.This chapter excavates 9 different pronunciations of initial and 18 finals.In the chapter seven makes careful classification and statistic analyses for the words with entering tone,summarizes the classification of entering tone and the relationship between the shuhua of rushengyun and ancient initials and its distribution,the process and the cause of characters of smooth syllables transformed into cheched syllables,it also illustrates its distribution after this process and inspects its neutral and entering tones.The eighth is the table of homophones.The vocabulary is based on the Dialect Survey Character List.By using more than 4000 entries collected,the vocabulary supplements the words commonly used in Zhongyang dialect but not included in the Character List,and deletes the unused and uncommon words in the dialect.Among them,the chapter of 6 and 7 is the focus of this thesis.
