Autonomous learning ability plays an important role in English language learning,especially in terms of English vocabulary learning of English majors.Only when students recognize the significance of autonomous English vocabulary learning ability,can they really learn actively and effectively.Nevertheless,some English majors lack this kind of ability due to following factors including loss of vocabulary learning interest and motivation,poor vocabulary size as well as other supports from technology,society,emotion,cognition,strategy as well as psychology.In order to cultivate and improve English majors' autonomous English vocabulary learning ability,the effects of technology and mobile learning devices deserve more researches than before.Take"Hujiang Happy Dictionary" this word APP for an example,this study mainly explores whether this App can improve English majors' autonomous English vocabulary learning ability to a certain extent and what are possible factors that can influence their autonomous English vocabulary learning ability as well as how these factors influence their autonomous English vocabulary learning ability?By combining qualitative research with quantitative research to analyze research data,research conclusions can be made that "Hujiang Happy Dictionary" can improve English majors' autonomous English vocabulary learning ability to certain extent,especially in terms of vocabulary learning interest and motivation,vocabulary size growth as well as TEM-8 vocabulary test performance.Other findings reveal that there are additional factors that are related to autonomous English vocabulary learning ability and also can influence it by different ways.These additional factors can be summarized in social,cognitive,emotional,psychological,technological as well as tactical aspects.This study mainly aims to find possible factors influencing learners' autonomous English vocabulary learning ability during the application of "Hujiang Happy Dictionary" and how this ability is influenced by these factors during the application of "Hujiang Happy Dictionary".In addition,this study also gives inspirations about using an autonomous approach to integrate technology into English vocabulary learning and teaching,providing teachers and learners with a brand new vocabulary teaching and an effective vocabulary learning method,so as to improve English majors' autonomous English vocabulary learning ability as well as English teachers' vocabulary teaching efficiency with the help of mobile learning devices.
