| The tuan shan(a silk round fan)element in Tang Dynasty paintings were inseparable from politics,economy and culture of the Tang Dynasty.As an artifact image,is was widely used in Tang Dynasty paintings,including scroll paintings,tombs and grotto murals.It was not only closely related to the Tang Dynasty people's production and life,etiquette culture,religious beliefs,political economy and other aspects,but also an expression of people's open-mindedness and openness,which enabled the fan element to convey people's thinking and aesthetic ideal in Tang Dynasty paintings.Fan schemas functioned as a link,under the painter's description,they had different shapes and different themes,became more expressive and vigorous,and could better express the way the painter observed nature and convey the painter's emotional content and spiritual sustenance.They have an important influence on the Song,Yuan,Ming,Qing Dynasties and even today.This paper briefly describes the style and aesthetics of Tang Dynasty paintings through political,economic,cultural,religious perspectives,analyses the reasons for the popularity of the fan element in Tang Dynasty paintings,and reviews the fan element in Tang Dynasty paintings including scroll paintings,tombs and grotto murals.Then,the artistic schema of the fan element in Tang Dynasty paintings is analyzed with examples from various subjects,such as flowers,birds,landscapes and figures,and the elements of Tuan shan in Five Dynasties paintings are listed for simple comparison.Next,the paper analyses the aesthetic interest of the fan element from the perspectives of practical function and cultural value,and finally summarizes its influence on the art form of today's tuan shan art.The paper also aims to inspire more writers to develop and innovate the "tuan shan element" with Chinese characteristics while inheriting the tradition,and to express it in the painting or tuan shan art,so as to create their own language with the pulse of the times. |
