The Construction Of Gender Identity In Russian Fashion Discourse

The relationship between gender and language has always been a hot topic in the humanities research.Scholars have demonstrated the nature of gender and language from different perspectives,and revealed the relationship between language and gender identity on the basis of research in various disciplines.In recent years,critical discourse analysis(CDA)has become a new tool for gender language research.CDA analyses the discourse that constructs gender identity from three levels:text,discourse practice and social practice,describes the gender identity characteristics of men and women from the perspective of construction,analyses the constructive effect of discourse on gender identity in traditional society,and reveals the ideology behind discourse.This paper reviews the research status of gender language,combs the related issues of discourse and identity construction,and takes Russian fashion discourse as the corpus to analyze the linguistic means of Constructing Gender Identity in fashion discourse,reveals the implicit gender ideology in Russian fashion discourse,and explores the relationship among discourse,gender ideology and gender relations in social context.Exploring the relationship between language and gender identity construction in Russian fashion discourse from the perspective of critical discourse analysis can help people understand the differences between men and women in gender identity construction,correctly understand the nature of gender identity,and change traditional gender concepts that maintain gender stereotypes and gender identity characteristics,with a view to contributing to the establishment and maintenance of equal and harmonious gender relations.
