Antonio Vivaldi(1675-1741),one of the most important composers in the Baroque period,had been known as the "king of concertos".His compositions are full of passion,which consist of stereoperception,imagination and romanticism."Sposa Son Disprezzata",a soprano aria which was selected from Vivaldi's comprehensive opera——Bajazet,was written in 1732.This love-themed opera is romantic and changeable,with a deep color of Baroque music.The aria "Sposa Son Disprezzata" appeared in the second act of the opera.At first sight,it seems like the actors of the aria are decribing a story,but actually the aria sighed for the departure of lovers.The soprano fully demonstrates the artistic charm of the aria by imitating the bride's cry with a mournful voice.Consequently,this scene is praised as a classic work in the Lyric aria.On the basis of introducing the composer's life and analyzing the singing of his works,this paper combining with the author's own singing experience and focuses on analysising the music functions and singing characteristics of aria.
