This study was based on self-efficacy theory and attribution theory,aims to examine the relationship between academic self-efficacy and foreign language achievement among 89 non-English majors in higher vocational colleges,to test whether the students' self-efficacy can effectively promote students' English study level,and to seek higher vocational English classroom teaching strategies based on the experiments.The results show that self-efficacy is an effective way to improve student's English academic level.Thus,this study puts forward the following suggestions:(1)To dig deeply into the students' non-intelligence factors,especially to cultivate students' interest in learning and perseverance.Students can improve their self-efficacy through the cultivation of students' emotion,interest,personality and other non-intellectual factors.(2)Through the attribution training,teacher can help students to posses kind of correct self-attribution,so as to inspire the underachiever's learning motivation,enhance their learning confidence and improve their self-efficacy.(3)During the teaching,in addition to demonstrative examples for students,teachers also should provide students with different kinds,different levels of model in order to let students in different level can find suitable models to inspire their own.(4)To guide students to make their own learning plan,supervise and urge them to keep on doing it.Only after the plans are implemented,the students can be more and more confident about their ability on finishing the tasks.The stronger their self-efficacy are,the more their grade improves.Finally,the students experience the joy of success and will form a virtuous circle of the learning process.
