There is an inseparable and close relationship between myths and literary works.Myth has nurtured all kinds of literary works and provided them with prototypes and motifs.Myth also provided a wide range of creative themes for later writers, and gained new cultural connotations in the era.Prometheus,as an important prototype in Greek mythology, has been transformed and rewritten in different eras by different writers based on the current historical context.Camus gets adequate nutrition from Prometheus mythology and infuse it into his own philosophical thoughts and literary works. The article revolves around two major subjects of Prometheus' s creation and revolt, and takes Sisyphus as Prometheus' s transformation and a collection of "Camus' absurd man",from Myth of Sisyphus to The Rebels, from The Stranger to The Fallen and The Plague, reflecting the absurd world and the right way to rebel, the middle-class,and making the unity and moderate Greek spirit still has the positive effect of leading people how to survive in contemporary society. This article is divided into four chapters for discussion. The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly explains the research significance and research status. The thesis discovers profound significance in the Camus' short essay Prometheus in Hell, compares the absurd thought to the head of Sisyphus, and compares the Camus' resistance to Prometheus' s body. There is a close relationship between“head” and “body”,the humanitarianism will be find if people combine the absurd thought and the resistance. The second chapter mainly explains that Sisyphus as the pronoun of ”Camus' absurd man” is endowed with the connotation of “creating humanity” with Prometheus.First, give a brief summary of Prometheus' s mythological prototypes, and analyze the themes of the Prometheus myth.Second, comb the evolution of the Prometheus' image.Through the re-creation of writers such as Aeschylus and Shelley, point out that each re-creation is a node of the times, and it is endowed with social significance, which is the change of human nature in the Western context.Once again,it is pointed out that humanity has experienced the decline in the era of Camus',and people desperately need to repair the fragmented humanity. Finally, the commonality between Prometheus and Sisyphus was discovered, pointing out that Sisyphus was a variant of Prometheus, and Sisyphus was responsible forthe "creation" of Prometheus.New humanity has been created in the new era.The third chapter mainly explains the universality of the absurd situation and the importance of recognizing the absurd situation. This chapter takes Myth of Sisyphus as the philosophical foundation, with The Stranger and The Fallen as the main text basis, connect Prometheus will be punished day after day and Sisyphus will promote the boulder day after day with Meursault's day-to-day monotonous life, find that Prometheus,Sisyphus,Meursault, and Clamens are in an absurd situation. The absurd situation is a prerequisite for rebellion, pointing out that the rebels are both rebel and absurd. If the rebels want to resist, they must experience absurdity and understand the absurd situation at first. Finally, the absurd will give birth to resistance. The fourth chapter mainly explains that if people want to find a way in the absurd world, they should rekindle the fire of Prometheus and re-ignite the radiance of humanity through resistance.Combining The Rebels and The Plague,it gives a brief summary of Camus' philosophy about resistance, pointing out that Camus denied the "metaphysical resistance" and "historical resistance" before proposing the correct resistance.Just being constrained by consciousness but not implemented in action will lead people fall into the abyss of nothingness;"historical resistance" overemphasizes the importance of history, and regards history as the supreme truth, leading to the legalization of murder, unrestricted violence, and the use of force in the revolution. It tends to be blurred, and it breeds villainy under the banner of justice. Therefore,Camus believes that we should return to the Greek spirit of pursuing balance and the middle, and resist within a limited scope to obtain happiness based on common humanity.Under Zeus,no one is free. The aim of Prometheus' s rebellion against Zeus is to resist the monopoly of Zeus and a pursuit of freedom.By analyzing the rebellious theme of Prometheus, point out fire as an enlightenment arouse human's pursuit of reason. For Prometheus, his resistance is for the benefit of mankind. The same is true of the Camus' resistance philosophy. Therefore, whether it is Prometheus or Camus' transformation of Prometheus, they all save freedom, reason, and finally go on a philanthropic road of which serves for all humanity.Camus' rebellious philosophy allows us to clearly perceive ourselves from the absurdity, and let us be a rebel against the absurd world inspired by love.
