As a philosopher and writer at the same time, the concept of absurd is the most important part of Albert Camus's thoughts. But it is precisely in the concept of absurd itself and the various theories that he developed from absurd that led him into various disputes. This is certainly due to some certain historical reason,Camus' s thoughts themselves, however, have its certain ambivalence either. In Le Myth de Sisyphe,Camus believes that absurd is a kind of relationship between man and the world. In this relationship, people must reject physical suicide and metaphysical suicide while resisting with full of passion.Camus's discussion here has certain ambiguous problems,he,however, put forward the image of Sisyphus in order to deal with the issue of absurd.Sisyphus's image, however, has its own logical flaw on the one hand, and on the other hand,Sisyphus's solitary image left serious moral problems. In order to solve the problem left by Sisyphus,Camus developed Sisyphus's theory into a theory of revolte after a series of mind changing. In the book L'Homme Revolte,Camus transformed Sisyphus's solitary revolt into a united and collective one, established revolt as the precondition for our existence. However, this kind of revolt will lead to violence and murder, and Camus tries to solve this problem with a theory which he calls la pensee de midi. Its central point is La Masure in the revolt process. However,Camus's discussion of la pensee de midi is still full of ambivalence.La masure is only one of Camus's wishes and la pensee de midi does not have feasibility. For the theory of revolte,Camus has gave up Sisyphus's image and replaced the solitary image by collective revolt on one hand. And on the other hand,Camus never give up the fundamental concept of his thoughts which he calls the absurd. And for the concept of absurd, the meaning of Camus's thoughts is to live bravely in confront of the absurd,to revolt bravely, rather than how to solve the absurd.
