A Study On The Pragmatic Popular Thought Of Liu Bowen’s Legend

Liu Bowen legend is based on historical figure Liu Ji’s.It has been passed on and developed in different periods.It has become a literary style of traditional oral bearing.It can show people’s empirical cognition,intellectual and cultural moods.With the further development of the intangible cultural heritage movement in China,Liu Bowen’s legend,as a national intangible cultural heritage project,has great social value in the analysis and research of the ideological and cultural pattern of the people in a specific period.This paper is based on fieldwork and legend text.From the perspective of pragmatism,this paper tries to summarize and analyze the popular thoughts of Liu Bowen’s legend,aiming at providing reference examples for the transformation and development of traditional folk cultural resources through theoretical exploration at the academic level.This paper mainly demonstrates from three aspects: Liu Bowen’s image construction,the classification and clarification of social relations and the interpretation of beliefs under the use of mysterious symbols.It further clarifies the pragmatism thoughts of the people in the legendary context,such as ethics,life and belief.The main body of the article is divided into three chapters:Chapter One is mainly from the perspective of iconography and folklore.It through the interpretation of the people to Liu Bowen civilians and elite image of dual construction process,further shows the elite ethics and grassroots cultural interaction pattern.Therefore,it reflects the people’s pragmatic cultural mentality at the spiritual level.Whether it isan analysis of Liu Bowen’s role,personality and identity as a civilian or a discussion of the deification of his elite image,we can see the people’s spiritual efforts and cultural attempts to debug the contradictions in reality.The second chapter takes the legendary text as the main research object,based on folklore,sociology,literature and art and other research perspectives.By discussing the three kinds of relations,such as neighborhood relations,power relations and family relations,it further demonstrates the practical thinking of the people to show their wisdom through relationship combing in the context of legends.In the third chapter,from the perspective of semiotics,through divine plot setting and divine image setting,it further demonstrates that people use divine symbols to express the cultural and psychological pattern of pluralistic divine beliefs and pragmatism life concepts.It expresses the people’s artistic expression and behavior practice of the practical concepts such as their own religion,emotion and life.The study finds that the people are good at using various legendary cultural symbols to convey the ideologies recognized and accepted by their own life groups in Liu Bowen’s legends.This kind of ideology presents the remarkable characteristics of pragmatism.Analyzing the pragmatism thought of the people in Liu Bowen’s legend can highlight the popular consciousness hidden in the traditional folk culture.This provides a theoretical basis for the study of the ideological pattern of civil society.
