A Study Of LongTian Belief Of Fenzhou In Shanxi After Jin And Yuan Dynasty

The folk belief is a special cultural scenery,which originates from the person while it also comes back to the person.The belief activity has distinct regional characteristics,which is tightly attached with its location,environment and society.Fenzhou contained the mid and the west area of Shan Xi in the ancient times,which was an important entry for the minorities to come down,so that the culture of different ethnics can be interacted as well as the diverse culture could come into being.The earliest existing Longtian Temple can be traced back to the Jin Dynasty.After the Yuan Dynasty,the Longtian belief was further developed,with the coexistence of many beliefs,such as Longtian Khan,Longtian Land and Longtian Virgin Mother.Such a divine system not only shows the interaction between the state and the local in the regional society,but also reflects the complexity of communication and integration between ethnic groups.The combination of Longtian Temple with military life and commercial life reflects the diversified development of Longtian image in later generations.The appearance of Dragon Temple stages,performances and temple fair activities gradually developed from "entertaining gods" to "entertaining gods" and then to "entertaining people",showing the continuous development of secular culture in regional society.As a "small tradition",folk belief absorbed and drew lessons from the "big tradition" Buddhism and Taoism recognized by the state.The controversy between "righteous sacrifice" and "lewd sacrifice",from the creation of gods to the sacrifice of gods and ghosts,it was not only a deepening of national ideology in regional society,but also reflects the imitation and borrowing of national ideology by the people.Based on Fenzhou's geography and humanities,this paper explores the causes and distribution of Longtian belief.At the same time,starting from the changes of Longtian belief in different historical periods,the paper discussesthe changes of ethnic relations,the development of secular culture,the people's life world,and the interaction between the state and regional society.
