An Analysis Of The Style Of The Single Buddha Statue In The Nannieshui Stone Carving Museum

Located in the Nanzeshui Village of Qixian County in the Taihang Mountains,in1957,a large number of stone carvings based on folk stone carvings were unearthed.According to the records of their exact years,these stone carvings belonged to the first year of the Northern Wei Yongping(the first year of the Northern Wei Dynasty).508 years),the latest is the Northern Song Dynasty Tiansheng Nine Years(1031).The "half-dress" Buddha-style statue in the single sculpture exhibition hall of the Nanzeshui Stone Carving Hall is different from the Yungang Grotto statue.The Yungang Grottoes embody the normative shape of the Buddha statue under the supervision of the ruler,and the "half-dress" Buddha style in the Nanzeshui statue reflects the craftsman's flexibility.The Yungang Grottoes and the Longmen Grottoes have thousands of Buddha statues in the Nanni Shui stone carvings on display.The dress hem of the "Dress to the nape" Buddha statue is not as flamboyant as the shape of a bird like the open wings of Yungang,which gives people the feeling of subtle beauty.Compared with the gorgeous decoration of the Longmen Grottoes,the "coating shoulders" and "hook-button" styles are more intricate,but they lack the folk customs of the Longmen Grottoes.The kind of realism and decoration.On the whole,the statues of the single-image exhibition halls in the Nanzeshui Stone Carving Hall show the characteristics of secularization,which is the image characteristic of the middle and lower class people.The face of the Buddha is not like the majestic and majestic feeling of the royal grotto.From the head of the Buddha in the single sculpture of the Nanzeshui stone,it can be seen that the appearance is mostly simple and kind,and the sandstone material has passed the time.Polished and scoured,it also shows the Buddha's sense of softness and the extraordinary spirit of not eating the fireworks.Its semi-circular shape highlights the transition from high relief to immature transformation.In this paper,using field investigation,Buddha image mapping,archaeological excavation and other materials,using image analysis and comparison methods,it is analyzed that the sculptures of the single statues in the Nanzeshui Stone Carving Museum are thinner than the Yungang and Longmen Grottoes.The clothing style of the clothing belt is similar to that of the same Buddha in the Longmen Grottoes.The rest of the Buddha styles are more different than the similarities,which shows the inheritance and innovation of the two great caves.Since the excavation,the Nanzeshui stone carving,one of the three major stone carvings,has exuded its unique artistic charm and provided us with practical materials for the study of folk stone carving art.
