Research On Chinese Album Envelope Design In The Early Days(1949�1965)

The Chinese album in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China(PRC)was not only the reconstruction period of the new Chinese recording industry,but also the development period of the recording industry.As the packaging of music,the album envelope is a visual expression of the music image,reflecting the ideological concept of the music work.Among the many visual graphic design categories related to music themes,the album envelope is a typical representative design.This kind of arts stands for a collision between music and auditory art and graphic visual art,involving various professional knowledge such as advertising,packaging,illustration,photography,andetc.The design of the album envelope has recorded the true society at that time and has a strong research value.However,there is relatively little research work reported on the album envelopes in the early days of the founding of PRC.This paper mainly studies the design of Chinese album envelope in the early days of the founding of PRC,and discusses them from five parts.The first chapter,introduction,introduces the reasons for the topic selection and research methods.The second chapter is about the development of Chinese album in the early days of the founding period and its social and historical background.The third chapter is an overview of the design of album envelopes.The production,packaging methods,functional characteristics,andetc.The fourth chapter,visual language analysis,from the perspective of elements,fonts,printing,materials,to analyze the envelope design.The last part,value considerations and social implications,in a specific historical period,combined with the development of people's literature and art in the context of the great era,the social meaning reflected by the album envelope is discussed.The album envelope design was an artistic product in the context of a specific period.This study is devoted to analyze it from the perspective of artistic aesthetics,and presenting the beauty of the album envelope design to the public.During that period,the design of the album envelope combined functionality and aesthetics,while ensuring accurate communication of the contents within the album.The design elements were relatively simple,the fonts were mostly simplified and calligraphy.The printing process was simple,and the selected material was mostly paper.As a work of art,the album envelope has its specific commercial value and artistic value.In the specific social environment in the early days of PRC founding,the design of the envelope has undergone many new changes due to the popularization of "people's literature and art",the ideological content highlights political,and the evaluation aspect highlights the reality in the art.The content of this study would be a practical guiding significance for the development of visualart.
