A Report On C-E Translation Of "The Eligibility Management Measures Of Securities And Futures Investors"

Nowadays,with the trend of globalization becoming increasingly prominent,legal provisions appear in our daily life more frequently than before.The internationalization of the security market has been one of the development tendencies in the world financial market since 1980s.However,there is no adequate protection for investors by law,which is a common problem that many countries are facing now.In this context,it becomes more and more crucial to promote and popularize the legal supervision of the security market,corresponding laws,as well as regulations and systems.This material conforms to this trend.The translation task is to translate a legal text titled "The Eligibility Management Measures of Securities and Futures Investors" and write the translation practice report.The source text,which is issued by China Securities Regulatory Commission,consists of two parts.One part is regarding the measures,and the other is the interpretation.Based on reading a large number of legal translation materials,the author uses translation strategies to translate the source text and modify the target text under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory.In addition,the author not only chooses typical cases as the objects,but also analyzes common problems in the C-E translation of legal texts.The main body of the report consists of four chapters:Chapter 1 aims to provide an introduction of the translation task.The contents,features,background and significance of the translation practice are mentioned in this part.Chapter 2 concentrates on studying the theoretical basis of the report and preparations before translation,which also consists of the related methods and techniques in legal translation.Furthermore,the author defines the translation duration and the quality control in this part.Chapter 3 is the core part of this report,the contents of which are mainly about case analyses.Combining with cases of the source text,the author makes a study of the material from 3 levels:lexical level,syntactic level and discourse level.There are several key points in each level.In addition,the difficulties and their solutions in translation process are summarized in this part.Chapter 4 is the conclusion of this report,which summaries the experience and lessons in the translation process,as well as problems that should be solved in the future.In brief,the author analyzed the features of the source text as deeply as possible and solved the problems and difficulties in translation practice one by one.It is hoped that this report can not only provide translation experiences in security investment field,but also contribute to improving the legal consciousness of the investors around the world.
