The Application Of The "Five Steps" Teaching Method In Senior High School English Reading Based On Chifeng Hongqi Senior High School

With the development of New Curriculum Reform in the 21th century,senior high school teachers should use the New English Curriculum Standards(NCS)in senior high school English teaching.We are making efforts to change the "teacher-oriented"teaching mode in the traditional classroom.Moreover,in the process of English high school teaching,developing reading skills is the top priority.English reading teaching is an important step of cultivating students' correct reading habits and abilities to help them get information,which contributes to achieving communication.Therefore,it is very important to change the boring traditional reading classroom and explore the new effective teaching methods.The author designed questionnaire and investigation,using the control experiment,and then took Chifeng Hongqi Senior High School as an example.Based her own teaching experience,the author analyzed the present situation of high school reading teaching under the traditional mode and used the "Five-steps" teaching method and traditional reading teaching methods to control the way of instruction.From the analysis of data and experimental results,it is not difficult to find that "Five-steps"teaching method is more suitable for high school English reading teaching under current circumstances.Finally,the author offered some suggestions,whatever the topic of the material is,senior high school English teachers should choose the "Five-steps"teaching method properly in their reading classes;teachers should especially value"T-S and S-S communication and interaction",trying to organize students-centered class and only in this way,can students be inspired to read more actively.The use of"Five-steps" teaching methods aims to change the present situation about the high school English reading teaching and improve the teaching in our school.
