The Influence Of Emotional Speech On Credibility Judgment

Emotional speech can affect the emotions and feelings of the listener,and may further influence their decision-making and judgment of interpersonal communication.The ability to identify and process emotional information can affect the quality of people's social interaction.The semantic information and sound rhythm of individual speech are the medium for effectively conveying emotions.People can capture the characteristics of the communicator according to their emotional pronunciation and form individuals' trust which influence their behavior in interpersonal communication.At present,the researches about emotional speech information mostly focuses on facial expression recognition and cognitive processing as well as on the characteristics of emotional speech itself.However,Little research explores the influence of emotional speech on faces,emotional speech credibility and different emotional speech on face credibility judgment.Therefore,this study aims to expand the research in the field of speech credibility,and make emotional speech more ecological.The study was divided into three researches:Study 1 was to explore the characteristics of Chinese college students' judgment of the credibility of foreign MAV emotional database,and to explore whether the subjects can identify and judge the MAV emotional database and the applicability of the MAV emotional database in Chinese subjects.Study 2 based on the research one was to establish an emotional speech material with Chinese characteristics and credibility judgment on emotional speech,and to classify emotional speech with different credibility.Study 3 further explored the credibility of the neutral face in the seven different emotional speech conditions.Simulating the effect of the simultaneity of sounds and faces in interpersonal communication,and explored the effect of emotional voices with different credibility on face trust judgment in interpersonal communication,making emotional speech more ecological.The results of this study found that:(1)There was a difference in the credibility judgment of emotional speech at home and abroad.Participants were able to better recognize Chinese emotional speech andmake adaptive judgments according to their own experience.The seven emotions all affected the judge's judgment on the credibility,and the happy speech and the angry speech were significantly different in the judgment of credibility.(2)There were differences in the credibility judgment of emotional speech with different valences.Positive emotional speech such as happy speech had the highest credibility score,which is the most trustworthy.The reliability score of negative emotional speech such as anger and disgust speech was the lowest,which is the least trustworthy.Individuals can make more appropriate judgments and behaviors that can be adapted to everyday life according to different credibility voice emotions.(3)Emotional speech with different credibility has an influence on the judgment of neutral facial credibility.High-confidence emotional speech prompts individuals to judge neutral faces as trustworthy,and low-confidence emotional speech prompts individuals to judge neutral faces as untrustworthy.
