| In order to realize national culture “going out” strategy, scholars and translators are looking for ways to “go out”.Translation is essential to culture “going out” and translation studies are the indispensable part. The Hong gao liang, the masterpiece of Nobel Literature Prize winner Mo Yan,has achieved great success abroad after Howard Goldblatt’s translation, which has boosted the confidence to Chinese culture “going out”.Learning from successful translators is the best way to do translation. Therefore, this thesis takes the Red Sorghum and the Hong gao liang as the texts for analysis, through comparative method, literature research method and textual close reading method to explore how Howard Goldblatt adapts to the translational eco-environment system and produces high-quality translation from the perspective of eco-translatology.Under the guidance of the eco-translatology,the author finds out that Howard Goldblatt has a deep understanding of the translational eco-environment and adapts to it well. What’s more, the author also finds that for the three-dimensional transformations, the translator Howard Goldblatt adapts to the translational eco-environment and selects correctly, considering about the target readers’ expectations, social ideology, publishers’ requirements and so on in the translation process.Howard Goldblatt makes a good adaptation and selection and produces a successful translation, which provides inspirations for translators against the background of culture “going out”. |
