With the rapid growth of people's knowledge and the continuous development of information technology,various new media such as micro-blog,WeChat,micro-film are constantly emerging,and the era has been marked with “micro era” label now.A fast-paced lifestyle allows people to access effective information quickly.As far as education is concerned,people begin to make good use of fragmented time to learn knowledge and skills,therefore,the micro-lecture teaching has come into being,which becomes an innovative teaching way with many good features such as short,targeted,high-efficiency and so on.Based on the Constructivism Learning theory and Micro-learning theory,and combining with the characteristics of micro-lecture itself,this thesis explores the application of micro-lecture to English grammar teaching in senior high school,taking the attributive clause as a teaching example.In this study,two classes of the first grade in Ganzhou NO.3 middle school who have the same English level and the similar educational background are taken as the research subjects.For the two classes,the one is the experimental class(EC)that is taught attributive clause assisted by micro-lecture,while the other one is the controlled class(CC)that is taught with the same grammar as the EC does by using general inductive English grammar teaching method.The related data are collected through tests,questionnaires and interviews,and then are analyzed with the help of SPSS 22.0 software so as to answer the following three research questions:1.Is the English grammar teaching assisted by micro-lecture effective on improving students' grammar learning?2.What are the effects of the English grammar teaching assisted by micro-lecture on students in senior high school?3.What are the effects of the English grammar teaching assisted by micro-lecture on teachers in senior high school?According to the analysis of the results of the experimental research,the following conclusions could be drawn: Firstly,the English grammar teaching assisted by micro-lecture is effective on improving students' grammar learning because it can realize the grammar teaching aims and effectively improve the students' grammar learning effect.Secondly,the application of micro-lecture can focus on individual differences among students and increase students' interest in learning English grammar.Thirdly,it canreduce teachers' teaching burden to some degree and promote the development of teachers' teaching skills.In the end,this thesis presents some implications in pedagogy and suggestions for future related research.It is hoped that this study could help English teachers with applying micro-lecture to teach English grammar in senior high school better so as to improve the efficiency of grammar teaching.
