Construction And Changes Of China's Images In The American Films(1980-2018)

The shaping and dissemination of the national image is an important part of the national development strategy and an important factor for a country to attract world attention and input.By 2018,China's reform and opening up has reached its 40 th anniversary.In these 40 years,China's political,economic development and comprehensive national strength have greatly increased.As the international competitiveness of China's politic,economy and culture continue to strengthen,China's national image on the international stage is increasingly eye-catching.How to establish a contemporary image of China,how to carry out a sustained and effective image of the country's external communication,and let the people of the world know China fairly is a worth studying problem.Films are the form of popular art that uses modern technology as a means,through the pictures and sounds as a medium to present continuous images on the screen to express ideas.As long as we trace the history of film development,we can know that films also have the media nature of information dissemination,and their role in the construction and dissemination of national image cannot be underestimated.The United States uses the Hollywood films to export its own cultural values and shape its national image of freedom,democracy,and justice.Chinese films are still in aphasia on the international screen.Therefore,it studies the construction and changes of Chinese image in American movies,and analyzes how the United States integrates the image into foreign countries on the basis of its own culture,so that the film can simultaneously satisfy the value output and economic benefits,and give Chinese films certain inspirations on the external communication strategy.In addition to the introduction,the text is divided into five parts.The first chapter is a critical chapter that lays a solid foundation for the entire paper.First,clarify the relevant concepts of the article,formulate the Chinese image measurement indicators in American films,and select samples,complete the statistics and analysis of the indicators in the sample.According to the data and analysis,the Chinese images in the American films will be divided into three stages.The second to fourth chapters respectively analyze the Chinese image,landscape image and Chinese cultural image as the indicator to observe the changes of the China's image in American movies.The fifth chapter is summarization and reflection.It summarizes the Chinese images constructed in American movies from 1980 to 2018.Then,according to the analysis of the whole article,it reflects on the direction in which Chinese film should be oriented in building China's image.How American movies successfully "self-shaping the image of a foreign country",and Chinese films can learn the strategies.
