Manuscript is a very important part of printmaking,which is different from the relationship of others painting categories.In the others categories of painting,manuscripts often bear the management of the composition,processing characters,and the relationship between colors.However,in the creation process of printmaking,the manuscript is dealing with not only to solve the above problems,but also to deal with black and white piece of the arrangement and organization of printmaking.Therefore this research is significant.With the development and changes of the times,the way of manuscript creation has also changed.Traditional artists often use sketches as the materials for manuscripts and use these materials during artistic creation.Nowadays,many artists use cameras to record materials and then make manuscripts based on these photos.This shift is also brings about a shift in the manuscript,which it affects the presentation of the work.Sichuan Fine Arts Institute printmaking system has a very good traditional of woodcut.Since it was founded,Sichuan Fine Arts Institute has formed three generations woodcut printmaking artists.The three generations of artists inherit and develop printmaking.Meanwhile,their works have a large different in nearly 40 years in the trend of China's booming art changes.Therefore,the three generations of artists is the main object of this research,in order to explore the impaction of the creation of the black and white woodcut manuscript.The three generations of artists in Sichuan Fine Arts Institute have different ways of observing the world,which is clearly reflected in the creation of manuscripts,and then affects their final works.The three generations of artists in the creation of the manuscript selection on material also has obvious different,according to the needs of its works,they often choose different materials for the creation of the manuscript,the brush strokes with different painting media traces to design the final printmaking.Through the research of the three generations of artist's manuscripts and black and white woodcut printmaking between the works,which sort out the historical context of the creation of black and white woodcut printmaking of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute.Combing the various forms of manuscript publishing,this paper sort out the various painting relations in the manuscript and get the conversion through the art language of black and white woodcut in the final printmaking work.Through this research,we can find the connection between the manuscript and the black and white woodcut,as well as the significance and new possibilities of manuscript creation.Through this study,we can summarize the empirical methods and artistic language,so i can create my work better in my black and white woodcut printmaking.
