The concept of "Belt and Road Initiative" has been proposed for more than five years,during which Chinese and foreign media have shown great interests towards it and reported it frequently.However,within the academic field,few scholars at home and abroad have done researches on it,let alone a comparative study done from the perspective of the reception of English translation of the term.Within the framework of Fairclough's three-dimensional model,this corpus based study of the English translation of the term “Belt and Road Initiative” mainly focuses on the reception of the different versions and the attitudes foreign countries,namely,Britain,the US and India,have.The results are as follows.For the spread and reception of the term translation,synchronically,the use of “New Silk Road” almost dominates in all three countries,while diachronically;the selection of versions by different countries varies within different period of time and presenting a trend that the official translation is going to dominate soon.This can serve as profound and solid evidence for the statement that the voice of China is gradually being accepted by the world,especially by some western countries.For the attitude different countries have,it is found that to a large extent,the role of ADOVOCATE is played by the UK,the SKEPTIC,by the US,as expected,and the OPPONENT,by India,directly reflecting the ideological,political and economic motivations behind these foreign media.
