"Verve" is a core concept in the history of Chinese classical aesthetics.It first appeared in the evaluation of people's articles in the Wei and Jin Dynasties.In the creation of figure paintings,the painters turned from the simple focus on the "god" of the objective object to the "spirit" of the painter's own heart,until the final emphasis on the realm of human painting.This change made the expression of the beauty of verve in figure painting beautiful.It can be truly embodied in the sense of learning.This article focuses on the origin and process of the author's graduation creation "children's eyes" series.,focusing on the exploration and analysis of the "charm" in watercolor figure painting.The theme of Tong Ju is about children.The author intends to experience their unique inner world.The author uses watercolor painting language to show their charm through a pair of eyes by exploring the strangeness and curiosity of children and expressing their emotions.The research on this topic will not only enrich the research on "verve" of contemporary watercolor figure painting,but also enhance the author's understanding of artistic aesthetics and practical ability of artistic creation to a certain extent.The author first expounds the inner flame andextension of "verve",and then discusses the performance of verve,emphasizing that the key to the verve of characters lies in the focus,that is,the spiritual and personality characteristics of characters are conveyed through the depiction of eyes.In the process of creation,the author selected and conceived the collected materials,analyzed the charm of the characters in the painters Margaret,Aixuan and Guan Weixin's works,and elucidated his creative process by combining his own paintings.Through the attempt of creating sketches,drawing small color manuscripts and techniques,this paper makes a progressive exploration of the creation of "Pupils" series.Finally,it elaborates the original manuscript from the aspects of character modeling,color relations,watercolor techniques,emotional expression,and summarizes and reflects on the gains and losses in the process of creation,and look forward to my future artistic creation.
