Research On Taixu's Thought Of National Salvation

The activities of national salvation of Taixu have been fully valued by the academic circle,but the guiding ideology behind the activities of national salvation,namely the thought of national salvation,has not been thoroughly explored.This thesis makes a research on Taixu's thought of national salvation.The first chapter combs the background of the thought of national salvation,and the orientation of Taixu's thought of national salvation in the background.The second chapter has sorted out the theoretical basis of Taixu's thought of saving the country,including "the theory of origin","the thought of purging all living beings" and "the principle of fitting the truth and adapting to the opportunity".The third chapter explains the basic content of the thought.Through analysis,Taixu divided the causes of national disaster into external and internal causes.External causes trace back to imperialism from the invasion of foreign powers,and to the western ideology and culture characterized by "making things by oneself" since modern times.The internal cause is ultimately attributed to the absence of modern Chinese culture.Thus,both external and internal causes are ultimately attributed to the narrow sense of culture in the sense of "thought and psychology".On the basis of this analysis taixu put forward the fundamental measures to save the country.To sum up,it is to establish a modern Chinese culture capable of cultivating the modern national consciousness of Chinese people and overcoming thedisadvantages of modern western thoughts.In order to build this modern Chinese culture,Taixu put forward five strategies: "building morality","improving politics","improving education","reforming Buddhism" and "inheriting the inherent history and culture of China".Taixu's goal of national salvation can be summed up as "peace" or "the pure land of the world and the world of great harmony".The fourth chapter summarizes the characteristics of Taixu's thought of national salvation,and puts forward four points: the origin theory that emphasizes the important position of mind and consciousness is the internal basis of Taixu's thought of national salvation.To open up the wisdom of the people as the leading,to promote morality as the auxiliary,is the fundamental content of the way to save the country.The thought of national salvation echoes the thought of universal salvation.Inclusiveness and integration of ideas.
