Since ZhuangZi was created,it has been a dazzling treasure in the jungle of ancient Chinese culture.Its thoughts include philosophy,literature,art and other aspects,containing endless wealth of mankind's spiritual resources.The insightful philosophical thoughts complement writing techniques forming a rich and colorful fable world.The series of “ugly images”embody the essence of Chuang-Tzu 's thought,which are vivid,amazing and thought-provoking.Since the beginning of human perceptual activities,ugliness and beauty have been accompanied.But undering the influence of human aesthetic thinking,ugliness is often regarded as a dependency or contrast of beauty.Therefore,ugliness has long been in a position of being avoided and abandoned in artistic creation and theory.However,ugliness have a unique connotation in Chinese classical aesthetics.People's judgment of “beauty and ugliness” are often combined with social ethical feelings.These “ugly images” created by Chuang-Tzu have its own specific way of speaking,theoretical connotation and features.Therefore,when we discuss these“ugly images”,we must pay attention to its connotation.In the “ugly images”created by Chuang-Tzu,the ugliness of the grotesque,the ugliness of the loose wood and the ugliness of the body have far-reaching influence.They strongly demonstrate Zhuangzi'sspiritual possession.To Chuang-TzuThe,the choice and preference for the “ugly images ”are no accident.The aesthetic tradition of beauty and ugliness are both good,the edification of Southern witchcraft culture,the life experience accompanied by poverty and the pursuit of nobility and self-reliance,all of which complement each other and influence the trend of Chuang-Tzu's thought.Although Zhuangzi is a philosophical work,the influence on literature and arts still not be inferior.Scholars often continue Chuang-Tzu's style of “appreciating ugliness”,singing directly those deformed people and things in poetry and prose.At the same time,influenced by Chuang-Tzu's thought of “appreciating ugliness”,when literatis model charaters,they prefer those characters whose appearance seems ugly and abnormal and whose behavior deviates from the secular world but containing the noble spirit to deepen the gist of the novel.In other areas of art,Chuang-Tzu's influence is everywhere.In addition to incorporating “ugly images” directly into artistic creation as a theme,Chuang-Tzu also has own style in artistic creation,forming a pursuit of aesthetic style with restrained verve and natural simplicity.On the one hand,it can be said that “aesthetics of appreciating ugliness”by Chuang-Tzu expands the new direction for Chinese literary and artistic creation;on the other hand,“aesthetics of ugliness”are also one of themore striking phenomena and research topics in contemporary social reality.Therefore,The spirit of Chuang-Tzu' have great contemporary significance.To directed against the frequent crisis,Chuang-Tzu has created these exaggerated and even absurd ugly images,which are like the whip of awakening,spurring the world to reflect and helping us get rid of the plight of life.
