Writing About Women Of Representative Male Writers In Europe And America In The 19th Century

Feminist literary criticism,with its deconstructive and subversive attitude,incorporated a distinct gender consciousness into literary criticism,has become one of the most popular literary criticism methods in the academic world since 1980 s.By rereading male literary works from a female perspective and slamming the practice of distorting female images is one of the main topics of feminist literary criticism.Beauvoir,one of the pioneers of feminist theory,published "Second Sex" in 1949;Milit,Beauvoir's successor,published "Sex Politics" in 1970;Gilbert and Guba,American scholars,published "The Crazy Woman in the Attic" in 1979.The three works came from different ages and countries,but they all chose some texts written by male writers and criticized the male ideology reflected in the texts,and then demonstrated the theoretical views of the whole book.The theoretical content and argumentation methods in the three works provide a typical example for the later feminist literary criticism.The 19 th century was an era of great changes in European and American society.In response to the requirements of large-scale industrial production,more and more women entered the field of social production,and literary creation,which was inseparable from social reality,began to pay more and more attention to the life destiny of women.During this period,European and American literary masters such as Hardy,Flaubert,Tolstoy,Ibsen and other male writers portrayed social reality and exposed social ills in their works,and their representative works showed women to varying degrees.As male writers,their female writing does not promote male authority,but shows different levels of female consciousness through the female protagonist's different struggles against fate.Based on "typical European and American male writers' female writing in the 19 th century ",This paper choose the representative European and American literature as a female text of male writers in the history of 19 th century,explores the difference of male writers creation between its works and three other works such as "Second Sex”.This paper respectively from the female protagonist in scar to,struggle against unease,pursue in rebellion,awakening in the hope that the four dimensions,showing the male writer's female protagonist process of constant pursuit of self and realize self,their female consciousness in four different dimensions of get distillation step by step,finally to awakening.Through to the angle of the female fate attitude typical male writers,this paper eliminates the misreading of male writer's female writing,finds their appreciation and admiration for female characters and attention to female's fortune and compassion,insights the harsh situation under the 19 th century the western capitalist system,encourages women to seek independence and liberation and look forward to the truely female consciousness awakening.
