A Report On The Translation Of Self-publishing And Collection Development:Opportunities And Challenges For Libraries(Chapters 6-7)

With the rapid development of economy and the variety of customer needs,today's publishing industry greatly differs from the traditional one,with the appearance of a new tend---self-publishing.This translation project selects Chapter 6 and 7 from Self–Publishing and Collection Development:Opportunities and Challenges for Libraries as its translation material.The 6^thchapter mainly lists challenges libraries and vendors meet in collecting and filtering self-published books as self-publishing and self-published books become more and more popular;and the 7^thchapter mainly introduces the development of Ingram?a publishing platform?and E-books,as well as some information about E-books uploaded to Ingram.This report takes Verschueren's Theory of Adaptation as guidance,mainly discusses the context adaptation in this translation project and adopted translation methods through case studies.
