Cartoon Character Model Design Of “Peony Pavilion”

21~stt century,as the age of rapid information development,the popularization of spreading has been the tendency.As one of the cultural industries,the spreading effect of cartoon can't be ignored.American,Japan,and other cartoon powers,depending on their own distinct cartoon styles,they earned economic benefits through cartoons,and spread their cultures and values at the same time.Once China took traditional culture as the nutrient,and created the world-renowned“Chinese School”.Then it was encountered impacts of American and Japanese cartoons.Because of the time-consuming technology,market economy and other objective reasons,Chinese cartoon had lost its characteristics gradually,and become the blind learning of the design of others.In recent years,our country supports the cartoon industries greatly.Domestic cartoons have more and more excellent works.Among the reasons,it is closely connected with traditional cultures.Not only the stories of cartoons need traditional cultural connotations,the cartoon model is also symbol of cultures.With general survey of excellent cartoon model at home and abroad,they all have the distinctive regional characteristics and national culture.Model is the core of cartoon creation,and also the first intuitive feeling of audience,so it can directly decide the success or failure of cartoons.Good model design can increase the infection of cartoons,and help the plot development,and show the internal cultures.So this study researches the cartoon character model from traditional cultural perspective.In recent years,“Peony Pavilion”culture was researched enthusiastically.There were many forms of innovation in art.As the original place of“Peony Pavilion”,it is necessary to research the native culture,and put new pattern of manifestation to traditional culture combining the traditional culture and modern art.The study is the research to the cartoon character model design of“Peony Pavilion”.Through practice investigation,contrastive analysis and other methods,the social and cultural background,art trend and popular aesthetics of Ming dynasty,the character model features of Dayu county and other aspects of“Peony Pavilion”were researched and analyzed.The figure painting,costume,makeup and other fields were compared.Combining with the cartoon form,3 major characteristics of this character design,rank,symbol,exaggeration were summarized.Finally,according to the costume,makeup,model and the like,5 model of characters were analyzed.Combining with the different styles of action figures,finally the cartoon style represented by graphics was confirmed.The final show of cartoon characters model design of“Peony Pavilion”were character model,character rotation,character action,cartoon scene and character picture these five parts.In a word,aiming at the outstanding traditional culture of“Peony Pavilion”,characteristic cartoon character models were designed.
