English teaching in rural primary schools faces various difficulties.As a vulnerable part of primary school teachers,rural primary school teaching staff has problems of high turnover rate and strong liquidity.English teachers' professional identity and job satisfaction in rural primary schools affect their enthusiasm for work,stability of rural teaching staff and the quality of rural basic education.Therefore,the study on rural primary school English teachers' professional identity,job satisfaction and turnover intention is of important significance.The main purpose of the study is to investigate the status quo of rural primary teachers' professional identity,job satisfaction and turnover intention in Ganzhou City,to study the differences of them with different demographic variables(gender,age,marriage,educational background,professional title,English level,honorary title,work hours,monthly income,job nature,and school location),and correlations among them.In this study,Teachers' Professional Identity Scale and Teachers' Turnover Intention Scale compiled by Wei Shuhua,and Job Satisfaction Scale compiled by Feng Bolin were used to test 101 rural primary school English teachers in Ganzhou.The data was analyzed with SPSS25.0 statistical software.The results showed that:(1)The overall level of professional identity of rural primary school English teachers in Ganzhou is relatively high(M=4.20),job satisfaction is generally above the medium level(M=3.37),and turnover intention is slightly higher than the medium level(M=3.13);(2)There are significant differences in primary school English teachers' professional identity by gender,age,marriage,professional title,and monthly income.Job satisfaction varies greatly among them with different ages and marriage.Turnover intention differs greatly with different professional titles,English levels and honorary titles.(3)There is a significant negative correlation between rural primary school English teachers' professional identity and turnover intention,a significant negative correlationbetween job satisfaction and turnover intention,and a significant positive correlation between professional identity and job satisfaction.Based on the research findings,some suggestions were made to improve rural teachers' professional identity and job satisfaction,so as to reduce the turnover rate of rural primary school English teachers.
