Cesar Franck(1822-1890)was hailed as the “Founder of French Musical Nationalism”.In the music history of France,he played an important role in inheriting traditions and ushering in a new era.As his sole musical work for violin,Sonata in A Major for Violin is one of extremely important works in the history of violin performance.This work was created at the turn of the century during the late romanticism.Thus,multiple music styles exist in this work.This is a typical characteristic of European music in the 19 th country.This paper is divided into the following parts: Introduction,Three Chapters and Conclusions.The playing techniques and styles of Franck's Sonata in A Major for Violin were analyzed.On this basis,the process of creating this work and different musicians' different playing techniques and styles for this work were explored.In the Introduction,the significance of this research subject and the current situation of domestic and foreign theoretical studies of this research subject were expounded;In Chapter Two,Franck's biography and the social background to this work were described;In Chapter Three,the essence of music style of this work was explored and introduced the performance versions of different musicians;In Chapter Four,different playing techniques and styles of four musicians(i.e.Jascha Heifetz,Kyung Wha Chung,Arthur Grumiaux and Johanna Martzy)were analyzed and explored,and details that reflect the musicians' recreation in their performance were analyzed objectively;and in the Conclusions,problems which were explored in this paper were further discussed and summarized.
