Explore The Characteristic Handling Of Portamento In The Performance Of Cezar Franck's Sonata For Violin And Piano In A Major

Cesar Franck(1822-1890)was an important composer of the French romantic music in the 19th century.He played an important role in the development of the French romantic music,violin sonata in A major is an important work.In this paper,Based on the analysis of two masters performances,the way of different glissando treatments when playing,and author’s own experience for performing,the author want to increase the musical mood and inner conflict of this pieces.when we want to interpretation of some music works,It is very helpful that deal with the glissando well.Through the discussion and analysis of the glissando treatment of this sonata,combined with the different sliding sound treatment of different masters,the author summed up the use of glissando and understanding in Cesar Franck violin sonata in A major.
