Application Of Comprehensive Materials In Abstract Painting

As we all know,Kandinsky is the founder of abstract painting,and the abstract painting has experienced De Stijl Futurism,Dadaism,Tahitism,abstract expressionism,non-concrete art,large color gamut painting,minimalism,etc after him.After several decades of hard exploring,the evolution has tended to mature which was based on traditional materials basically,various styles and various patterns were poured in.This circumstance also means that it is difficult for abstract painting to make any innovations in its performance,especially in the form of modeling language and colour language in the new period of history in a sense.By coincidence,in the early 1970 s,the rise of Conceptual Art has been a shock to shelf painting,the rise of new installation art and new media art predominated the abstract painting after that.However,the shelf painting was forced to change its model and breakthrough under the great impact.As a consequence,the develop of abstract painting was still faced the difficult challenges under the background of globalization.“Comprehensive material painting” was used to limited those painting works which use non-traditional materials and techniques to express the art,such as stick the sacks and iron sheets on the paintings or burn them and so on.In the year of 1908,Pablo Picasso stick a piece of paper on a sketch which was painted by a pen with no conscious,this is early birth of comprehensive material painting.Picasso and another important artist Braque used this method to create works widely after that,they were also recognized as the pioneer of comprehensive materials.During the period of creation,they introduced newspapers,printing paper,cardboard and other materials into their artistic creation creatively.This idea has transfer these ordinary materials into symbol language loaded with the artist's spiritual emotion and connected the "materiality" of these materials with the "spirituality" of artists in the way of splicing and pasting.However,the comprehensive materials were not used to abstract painting in that period.After 1910,comprehensive materials was used to abstract painting gradually,such as the Kara's 1914 work "Patriotic Celebration".As a new star of Futurism movement,he was one of the first person to put the books,newspapers,magazines,music scores into the abstract painting.Besides,Picabia's "Drawing on Paper,1948-1" and Alp's "Shredded Paper" were also classic works which included the comprehensive materials.Of course,there are futurism,non-concrete art after Dadaism,abstract expressionism,neo-expressionism in the comprehensive materials.They are all contributed their valuable practical experience to the development of abstract painting when they aimed at exploring the application of comprehensive materials in abstract painting and the artistic expression of different materials positively.
